Anarchy on the Death Star

I really enjoy coming up with builds to feature my new items. Anarchy on the Death Star was a very quick build and  pretty easy to photograph. Total time for the build, photography and editing was a little under 2 hours.

Originally I was going to have more signage on the walls, but I was unable to fit everything I wanted to hang. This scene was entirely built to showcase the new Anarchy tiles so I wanted to make sure they were a prominent feature.

I  built just enough of the walls and corridor to cover what would be seen through the camera lens and the full size of the build is less than 32x32 studs. The final photo (above) is actually 3 photos combined together to accommodate the depth of field that I wanted in the photo. I have dealt with this type of photo before so I knew how I was going to need to photograph the scene and the corridor was built with this in mind.

The last items put up were the 2x2 tiles on the walls. After all the figures were positioned the tiles were placed accordingly.

Lord Helmet

I watched Spaceballs a few weeks ago and thought my technic vader helmet would be perfect for a Lord Helmet build. The helmet wound up working perfectly and the size of the bust build was determined entirely around the size of the glasses and helmet.

I believe Spaceballs is available both on Amazon Prime and Netflix right now, so if you have an account with either I would suggest you check it out while it's available!

Brick Breaker Dragonfly

While pulling a bunch of builds apart it occurred to me that my orange brick breaker resembled the body of a dragonfly.

Taking this photo was a huge pain. Unfortunately there was a slight breeze and a light Lego build with wing span + slight breeze = disaster.

The build kept blowing off the bird bath, but after much persistence and resets I eventually got the photo.

AT-AT MicroFighter

In my whole collection I only have 2 Star Wars sets. An AT-AT and a Tie Interceptor.

Of my two sets LEGO has already released a Tie Interceptor MicroFighter so that left me with 1 option: AT-AT microfighter.

Like my large scale At-AT the head on the MicroFighter does move left to right.

I tried to make the AT-AT a little smaller, but the pilot can only sit in the back at the current scale.

Have Flags, Will Travel

What does the minifigure have to do with the flag bricks? Nothing. I just thought a picture of just bricks with flags on them would be kind of boring.

But on a side note, the minifigure itself does have a story to it. If I were a guy this is how I would have looked when trying to navigate the streets of Prague looking for our hotel, eye twitch and all.

It was nighttime
It was winter
We got lost
All the street signs are super long with names almost void of any vowel.

We never did find our hotel and went for the "stop at the next place we come across" method of picking a place to stay. It worked well for us and we got the last room available, a rooftop suite, which had a beautiful view of the city and an amazing view of the castle.

The elevator was comically small and could fit 1 small child so we threw our bags into the elevator and ran up the 10 flights of stairs to meet the elevator at the top.

Ahh... the memories!

So getting back to the flag bricks, they are digitally printed on 1x2 white, red and blue bricks. The Canadian flag graphic is printed edge to edge

Micro scale G1 Optimus prime.

This build comes in at 3 1/4" in height (roughly twice the height of a minifigure)
