#10. Flashman at the Charge

Via Flickr:
Flashman aged: 32 to 33
Years: 1854 - 1855

*Notes
In Flashman at the Charge, loafing about back in England in 1854. Flashman through misfortune joins the 17th lancers, gets sent to the Crimea, and ends up taking part in the famous charge of the light brigade alongside his old semi-nemesis Lord Cardigan commander of the 11th Hussars (Flashmans old regiment). Flashmans part in the charge is not helped by a terrible case of wind caused by a recent case of dysentery. Surviving, he is captured by the enemy and then ends up having more adventures in Russia and beyond, somehow ending up back in India via Afghanistan once again.

I've been waiting to do this one every since I started out this series of vignettes. The Horse design was initial inspired by BMWindys articulated horse design, and I have kept a few features such as lower portions of legs and how the ears are just balanced on (now bound with string). But the entire body, head, neck and top legs are pretty much new. I've been through so many horse designs to try and get something the right scale but able to position in many horsey positions, and I think I'm pretty happy with it. In this vignette you can also see 2 distinctive military outfits, Lord Cardigan in the 11th Hussar uniform and Flashman in the uniform of 17th Lancers.
