Micro Star Trek

I've been having some fun making micro versions of Star Trek space vehicles this week. I got the idea for the borg cube when a pair of Lego Dice bodies fell out of my miscellaneous container.
I've been watching a lot of NASA documentaries and had outer space on my mind and immediately thought the dice would make a simple, but perfect Borg Cube. And then I naturally needed to make an Enterprise for the Cube to chase down!

The 2x2 tiles on the cube are custom printed

Hillside Moai of Rapa Nui

Also known as the Easter Island heads.

I watched a documentary yesterday about this island, the ancient people who lived there and why and how they think these people carved and moved these massive Moai to their present locations.

The island is now home to 887 of these Moais. They vary in height from 12 ft to 30 feet and the heaviest Moai weighs 82 tons.

Rapa Nui is also known as Easter Island because the Europeans first landed here on Easter day.

Tribute In Lights

The Tribute in Light is an art installation of 88 searchlights placed next to the site of the World Trade Center to create two vertical columns of light in remembrance of the September 11 attacks. It is produced annually by The Municipal Art Society of New York. It initially ran as a temporary installation from March 11 to April 14, 2002, and was launched again in 2003 to mark the second anniversary of the attack. As of 2010, it has been repeated every year on September 11.

These are easy to create and there is an almost endless possible color combination to make either real or made up bird color patterns.
